To a large degree, the success of your interview will depend on your ability to communicate/connect effectively with the human resource representative or the hiring manager. There are four personality types and here are a few tips on what to look for:
How is the person dressed?
Are they dressed very professionally? Are they casual and have mixed colors that maybe don’t match? Are they attired with the latest fashions with designer labels? Or maybe they’re wearing earth tones colors?
The professional dresser will be very structured and probably have a set of interview questions they have memorized. You will want to be precise in your answers, and don’t bush over important facts.
The person with mixed colors will want to have a lot of detail in your answers not just surface stuff. Giving example of some of your accomplishment would be very appropriate for this personality.
The interviewer with the fashion statement attire (or bling) will not want a lot of detail, but more bottom line responses. You need to be mindful that this personality will be in a hurry to get through the interview. Don’t let it bother you that’s just their personality.
The earth tones dresser is your people person very warm and engaging. They may get into some questions about your family or pets. This person will want to know about how you are in a team environment, or what you do when you’re not working.
